After Prom Party Senior Survey Results
Each year the CHS PTSA provides an After Prom Party for our Seniors. The night after the prom is one of the most dangerous nights for high school students and we want to have a fun, safe party that everyone is invited to attend.
In December 2013 at a Class of 2014 Assembly 315 seniors filled out a survey about the After Prom Party. The PTSA is excited that 76.9% of the seniors responded “Yes” or “May Be” to attending the After Prom Party.
Based on feedback from last year’s After Prom Party, the survey asked if Seniors would be interested in an early bus. The Prom ends at Midnight. The first bus of students arrives at the After Prom Party 1 pm and the buses starting leaving Dave & Busters at 4:00 pm. 44.6% of students said that they would like an early bus. Based on the survey we will offer an early bus and sign up for the early bus will be part of the After Prom permission form.
Finally, a few things were mentioned in the survey that we would like to clarify:

Dave & Busters FAQs
Why Have an After Prom Party?
Statistically prom night is one of the most dangerous nights of the year. After Prom Parties provide a safe and secure place for all students to have fun and to be safe after the prom.
Who are the After Prom Party Committee?
The After Prom Party Committee is part of the Catonsville High School PTSA, separate from the Class of 2014 which organizes class events including the Junior and Senior Proms.
Why do we have the After Prom Party at Dave & Busters?
Dave & Busters offers all of the “traditional” after prom activities for students: bowling, billiards, movies and food while adding the possibility of other fun activities like video games and a photo booth. When we have asked for something new at Dave & Busters, they generally Busters can accommodate us. We are asking the students about other things they would like to do at the After Prom such have an After Prom theme, Karaoke or a chill room.
Dave & Busters provides After Prom Parties for a number of Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard County schools – they are good at it. The After Prom Committee only has to provide about 15 parents as chaperons for the event. (We need another 16-20 to check in students from 10:30-12:30pm.) Most traditional After Prom Parties need 30-40 parents to chaperon, set up and clean up. This great facility offers maximum appeal with minimum effort.
Do You Have To Attend The Prom To Attend The After Prom?
No, each year several students come to the After Prom and not the Prom.
Can A Prom Date From Another School Go To The After Prom Party?
Yes, as long as the Catonsville High School student also goes to the After Prom Party.
How Does After Prom Party Work?
Students sign up for the After Prom and get the permission form signed.
After the prom, students go home, change into relaxed clothes and come back to CHS.
Note: no backpacks, purses or bags are allowed to go to Dave & Busters. Students can bring their phones.
They are checked in at CHS and are bused to Dave & Busters.
Students stay at Dave & Busters until the party is over.
